No schedule or content or order papers posted that I can find.  Guess it'll just be a, "surprise".

And so it begins..........

I missed the throne speech and can't find a link.

On the news this AM it said the education bill is not on the agenda, the first order of business is the report on wages that was commissioned before the election.  Gee, wonder if they'll vote themselves a big raise?

Second order is a, "surprise/secret" bill to be announced.

I'm not going to speculate, but I sincerely hope Albertans start paying attention.

you know that last line got me thinking......i dont want to pay attention.  i voted and in my mind, the wrong party is in power with a horrible leader who i KNOW is going to eff things up in the next few years.  there isnt a damn thing i can do about it, so i choose not to stress over it.

locally, the municiapl government here has been doing some awful things.  a while back they built a museum and arts theatre downtown.  there is no parking downtown, they built it to only 500 seats which is completely useless, and they insisted it be downtown on the site of the post office.  they wasted an extra 30 million or so tax dollars to build something that doesnt suit the needs in a place nobody wants to be.  thats just one example.

medicine hat is made up largely of old retired farmers from saskatchewan.  i dont mean offence by this, but most of them are uneducated backwoods thinking people who havent seen much of the world.  they come here and locally most of those seeking municipal council are school teachers and lawyers.  farmers havent seen much of them types so figure they must be smarter and should do it right.  over the last 30 years that has led to catering to the elderly (medicine hat is albertas florida....the retirement capital) and they have chased off manufacturing and industry that has tried to set up shop here.  there is nothing much for work here outside of oil, and even that isnt here.  the offices are here, but the work is in saskatchewan since they stopped electing communist governments at the same time as dumbass eddy effed with the royalties.

i decided a few years back to go with satellite tv.  that cut out the local news and made me happier.  then i went to satellite radio and stopped getting the local news that way.  i noticed i was getting happier.  i cancelled the local paper and again saw that made me happier yet.  i still hear stuff like the insanity now anout a new hockey rink.  this town needs it, but again they want to fork it up and put it downtown, meanwhile a group has offered free where there is ample space and good traffic flow.  sigh.  i guess what im saying is that for me....ive found it easier to just say screw it.

I hear you Bambi, catch is with me just before the election bill C-50 was trying hard to ruin our farmland while other interests would do that And eliminate hunting in the entire area and potatogate is less than 5 miles from where I'm typing this.  Those are what got me involved in the election.

I'm not sure what's going to happen now, although it's a safe bet a big raise will be voted in on Monday, and taxes are going up.  (so much for not speculating, eh?)

Anyway, just got back from a couple days in Calgary.  Normally I go to the city I get what I need done, maybe hit a museum, go out for supper and get the heck out of there.  This time I actually paid attention to the inhabitants a little more.
What I saw was a distressing number of men sporting purses (call it what you want, it's a purse);  an alarming number of male drivers white knuckeled at 10 and 2, eyes straight ahead(scared);  people walking with mountaineering style sticks and camelbacks (I was told they weren't walking, it's called, "urban trekking", and no, I couldn't make this stuff up);  and finally, across Macleod Tr from our hotel there was a bar sporting posters proclaiming and I quote, "Saturday Night Sex Party".
Long story short, after doing some urban people watching, it's no surprise they voted further left than the ndp.
I still have no idea why those up in Ft. Mac would, but in any case, the Alberta that made Alberta great is gone.

Maybe I'll just stop paying attention too.  No point in beating a dead horse, just try to stay away from the stink.

bang on with that calgary scene....edmonton is much the same.  there are still some real men in those places, but they are outnumbered by the.....ummmm.......well, lets just say less rugged fellas.  nube is right with ft mac.  dont get me wrong, them newfies are some of the most friendly people around.....but they do tend to think a little different than a born here westerner.  i dont even kno what the answer is.  i like the separtist west, but there are so many easties here now im not even sure it would be worth it at this point.

I hear yah boys I hear yah. I just don't know some days if its just me or what but this country/world is just getting weirder and dumber by the day no really it is. Some days I just feel like crawling in my shop and locking the door because I can't even go up town for supplies cause guaranteed I will just run across some idiots that piss me off and ruin my day. Don't care what my wife says, its not me its just that people are getting dumber and I have ran out of patients. It used to be when a fellow went away on vacation to larger areas that you expected to see the freaks and idiots, that's half the reason you went some place was to have a laugh, but now all those freaks and idiots have over taken even our smallest towns. I know one thing I feel sorry for my sons. They are just getting started in life, they are going to have to put up with all these goof balls their entire life, and its only going to get worse. Wait until those fricken dumb ass easterners vote in the NDP, wait and see the result of that one.
