Feels like Aug.
« on: July 16, 2013, 06:44:49 AM »
Calender may say July, but last couple days it feels like August here.  Heavy dew, low single digits in the AM, warming during the day.  Cereals are all headed out, row crops are either full bloom or finishing flowering.
In our yard the apricots are starting to turn, plums are grass green but almost full size, pears are about 1/2-2/3 size already.  Leaves on the trees have even gone from that vibrant grass green to a still rich, but duller green.

I'm thinking early fall.

Summers are short and the winters seem to be getting longer. You gotta wonder about this global warming.

Now the forecast here is for high's of 30's with lows of 15 for the next week.

Maybe I'm just looking for signs of fall, since we're leaving on our moose hunt in about 60 days.   ;D

Full moon's Sept. 30;  rut should be hard and heavy.

Although, with that heavy dew, my Grandfather would say to expect a heavy wet snow middle of Oct............
