Holy Heck Mosquitoes
« on: July 19, 2011, 12:53:04 AM »
Holy Heck guys what are we going to do for the first part of the season.... I went to check trail cameras today and i thought i was going to get carried away or need to call 911 and get air lifted out of woods and a few pints added to top me back up it was insane.!!

I cant image sitting on stand early season or even bird hunting this year.. Its going to be terrible.. Anyone ever use a thermocell in a deer stand.??

Work great for bear hunting never tried one deer hunting...

Anytips or tricks would be greatly appreciated on how to beat the bugs..!

Eat bananas. I tried it twice this year and I really do think that it worked. I ate 3 bananas each day and I'm sure there were less mosquitos around me than when I did not eat them.

I've used the thermocell in my ladder stand and it worked fine, didn't spook deer or elk.

I always thought it was the other way around?  That you shouldn't eat bananas because they are high in potassium, and the potassium is supposed to attract mosquitoes?  I could be wrong though.

Too much potassium has another effect too.  It induces bowel movements and with that in mind I'm sure baring your ass in the bush would lead to a few more bites...lol.
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

X2 I always heard that eating bananas attracts them.

Isn't eating a bunch of citrus supposed to help keep them away?
Just puttin' it out there...
