Mountainman this place is to discuss the outdoors, believe me AO isn't going anywhere, this is not a competition with any other boards, it's just an alternative.

I dont think anyone really wants to see "AO" the forum to be gone. Most of the issues are with those running it. And yes im sure a bunch would love to see them disapear.

Many will stay there and many will be here with a bunch that will frequent both.

But like was stated now at least there is an alternative for those that do not like how things are on one or the other.

Sorry Diver but it does not take much at all to get banned there.  It's nice to have a place where you can say what you want and it does not get erased.

Well the nice thing AD is that you can make an observation here, and even post it. You will likely suffer the odd flame but will not be subject to a "banning" based on the comment going against your business affiliations or those of your employ. I would consider this a better attempt at providing a true voice to the hunting and angling communities.

thats the truth.  a bigger question is how long will the tits that are here get figured out and kicked here too?  im ok with a guy getting a second chance, but for some this chance is in the teens.  for others, a fresh start is a good opportunity.  you guys know which category you fall into.

Yes your right Diver it does take a fair bit for some to be banned. And for others it didnt take much. But you cant deny that it has been a total dictator ship.
And guys just want the ability to say what they feel, beleive in what they wish and disagree if they feel the need to without being on pins or needles about getting banned or wasting there time because the posts will just be erased.

Im a membere of at least 8 forums and some are censored and some are out of control. There does need to be a happy medium and the start is to know that the members of a forum are what make a forum. And if guys cant say what they honestly feel and discuss what they are passionat about  then a forum is usless.
And yes AO is strong but it hasnt had much for competition or places for memebers to go. But with the streangth of this new site and sites like Hunting BC there are now alternatives and people will leave. Sure they dont have the fan base yet, but look what this site has done in less than 24hrs! I think the amount of AO guys present here shows that they are looking for a fresh place to go.

So im sure AO isnt going anywhere but im thinking its gunna be a tad slower than what it once was!

There are four types that are on AO.

1. Those that wouldnt say shit if their mouth was full of it.
2. Those that voice opinions and beleifs only till they are told to beleive different or the mods say not to.
3. Those that stick by what they know and believe in no matter what.
4. Those that can pretty much say what ever they wish and have no worries.

Sure some have had 14 chances! But some also have been involved 14 times as much as other. Sure some guys are dick heads and what ever but in the end them guy will hang themselves and make themselves look stupid.

You are a good guy Dale but you are in the crowd that will back down, and just say enough to make sure you dont get booted. Some of us arent like that, we state our piece and if in our hearts we beleive we are right and feel there needs to be something debated, we do it right to the end. I was always taught to not do anything half ass. So when I debate my side of the topic I will debate it until the end. I do listen to others and if convinced in "MY" mind that im wrong I will change my thoughts but I will not be told what my thoughts are or when "MY" thoughts are wrong by anyone. And if my thoughts get me 14 chances or banned well then so be it!

The concept here is not a place to run amok, slander and act like a clown, the concept is an open board that people can talk about products, businesses, other websites, post relevant links and express their opinions constructively without having to worry about admins and sponsors controlling the content or what people can say.

Who owns this forum?

It is important for many of us to know this answer. I do care about where I spend my time, and I if I am going to support a forum, share photographs and information, I need to know who's in charge.

There are some good guys sighning up here. I would like to play along, but that is not going to happen without knowing who I am playing with.

And it's a real shame to see the slandering of members has already started. I used the word "slander" because the comments of a member here are just that.

I wish the forum success, I think.......

Let's just hope the mods on this forum keep in check any who need to be kept on a leash.  Childish, arrogant bickering and unprovoked, ignorant comments are the reason I don't frequent ao, and I don't frequent that site of My choice. 

I enjoy sharing stories, tips, photo's with, and learning from other outdoorman/ladies. 

I sincerely hope the ao forum stays just as it is, and the "peeing match bunch" stay right where they are.

Bruce, being able to share opinions or talk about products, services, or articles on other websites is one thing, being a douche, slandering, spamming, flaming is entirely something else and will be dealt with appropriately. I think everyone can agree to that principle.

i dont know darcy....i havent backed down from the powers that be over there....but then i havent had a situation that its been an issue.  if i was told to shut it.....well i guess my response would be situation specific.  i would try to keep my response within the rules though. 

if im wrong i can admit it, but if im right i dont stop.  i do brush off the whiners fairly well if thats what you mean.  if someone starts acting like a fool i can walk away fom that....it has happened here already.  the thing is that on the interweb, what can you do?  a dummy isnt going to make himself look any smarter with his mouth....that too has happened here...but i sure could lower myself to that level and look every bit as stoooopid....that wont happen here.  i just choose not to.   like justin said on another thread here, its funny how many mouthy guys tuck thier tails and run when im standing in front of them. 

there is the discussion also where opinions are what they are and wont change.  heck, you and i have had them.  i dont always agree with you, but i respect you and your opinion.
