Stelmach shutting it down
« on: May 12, 2011, 08:14:35 PM »
Well looks like Ed Stelmach is calling it a day, he's had a long political career. What do you think about what kind of job he did? I think he did alright really other than the oil and gas royalty fiasco he created, he realized quickly that it was a stupid move. I just think he wasn't as tied into the oil industry as Ralphie was and didn't understand the implications.

I think the biggest thing going againts Stelmach was the big shoes Ralph left behind to fill.

I wish Ed all the best..

Besides his oil & gas royalties fiasco, what else would Ed Stelmach be remembered for? Achievements of what, medicare? Nope, he can burn in his own pile of manure as far as I'm concerned. Ralph will be sorely missed but Danielle will slip in easily.

Well, let's see.........  The first thing he did was give himself a whopping raise, right when a large number of Albertans were out of work.

What's next?  Dick with royalty's and put the rest of the province out of work, effectively shutting down the "spinoff" part of the economy.

Oh, yeah, then as an added bonus put us back in the red provincially, effectively undoing all the good struggle we have all contributed to for the last 10 years.

Personally I don't think the true damage he and his cronies have done to Alberta will be known until we get a fiscally responsible government elected.  Good riddance.  Bring on the election and the WRA, the sooner the better.

You know Eddy Stelmach , is our local MLA for Fort Saskatchewan area . I recently had a booth at trade show here in town . He stopped off at my booth , took interest in my business made a little small talk . Asked me my name , I told em he says now where do I know that name from . I tell him every time Ive written a letters with my views good or bad revolving around Alberta's fishing and Fish and Wildlife . He said that's right , and was telling me the things that they are working on changing and a few other things , shook my hand and that was that . I was impressed out of 100's of thousands of letters the guy gets a year remembers such a small detail .

I personally wish the guy well . He done pretty good considering what hes had to deal with . I wish him and his family well .

I think our province would have been better off with out him the rescission would not have effected us half as bad if he had left the royalties alone IMO.
my question is who's going to replace eddy and will that person be any better? whats everyone's thoughts on the up and coming party's Wild Rose the Alberta party?

As long as Ted Morton stays away from WR, they will get my vote. He has done more damage to the PC's then Stelmach.
