Website speed
« on: May 25, 2011, 08:39:37 PM »
I have heard complaints from a handful that pages were loading slow, including BBJ, and we don't want BBJ unhappy here. I have no issues myself with Firefox 3 on Windows XP and with Firefox 4 on Windows 7.

If you are one of those with issues please post your operating system and browser you are using. If you have tried more than one browser and it works better let me know too please. I want to fix the issues if there are any.

I haven't had any speed issues with any of my setups (Windows 7 with IE or Google Chrome) (Linux with Chromium, Firefox, Opera) but occasionally I'll get an odd server error - server not available or some jazz like that.  When it happens I can't access the forum for 5-10 mins from either machine, and then it seems to sort itself out.  It could just be the stupid satellite internet I've got out here too...I dunno.

Next time I get the error I'll copy it down and post it for ya if that'll help :)
Just puttin' it out there...

No issues here PC or MAC.
BBJ you might try running a anti-malware/spyware program and do a virus scan then clear your cash.

might help

6 minutews to get this point this morning and post. There are days that the site never opens. I'm getyting tired of it and going elsewhere there just isn't enough time to wait that long to open a single post.

Well Muskeg sounds like something on your end. Not sure what to tell you buddy, try cleaning your computer for malware and run a virus scan. I ran a traceroute to your connection from the web server and had no erroneous hops or anything weird. No idea what the issue is but it's not server side.

No issues on my end. Running an older Dell computer, Win XP, and IE. Can be a touch slow with threads containing lots of pics but that is just my end.

Typically this site is as fast as any other on my computer (brand new, big hard drive, lots of ram, dual processor,  windows 7 and IE 8) Once in a while though a page won't load, so I try refreshing, going back, going forward, and I eventually have to close IE and restart it. Doesn't happen with any other website, doesn't do it often, but it does happen.
