The dog went out for a crap this morning facing downwind. He had to turn around facing the wind because the first attempt was blown back.   Second attempt was successful.  The wind has been gusting anywhere from 70-90kph.  Semis heading north on 881 are pulled over at the weigh scales and Corner Gas near Lac La Biche for safety reasons.

LOL be happy your dog will crap in this crap lol. Mine will run from one door to the other. Will not pee even. He hates the wind lol. Hopefully you didn't have to clean the first failed attempt off?!

Hopefully it melts some of the snow up north, may help a few critters survive the winter. This freeze thaw cycle could be ugly otherwise. Snow is gone and the wind has calmed in the south. 40 km/hr is feeling about average for this time of year.

This can be the worst thing for animals.. Unless it all melts way down. The snow up here is deep as far as the critters that's not a bad thing especially the moose,, they have those long legs for a reason, not many things can catch them in 4 feet of snow. But now you put a hard crust on that snow and its deadly for them, the devil dogs will have a feeding frenzy..

 Deep snow on its own doesn't have the effect on ungulates it did a few years back. With the extra farm lands and open lines an leases with good growth on them all help the animals make it through the winter. The cold and winter predators are their biggest enemy these days and by predators I mean the 4 legged kind and the kind that pack a card and run 4x4's..

Naw, thank Christ he ended up clean.  I used it as hyperbole to indicate the strength of the wind!!

The Slave Lake airport recorded a gust at 126 km/h yesterday. Was crazy up here! I was almost finished a brand new 8x8 ice shack and it blew across the field, destroyed the whole thing lol.

We have been building a new cabin over the winter. At this point the floor is done, the framing is done and 1 sheet of osb is up. I thought I had it pretty well braced but the wind blew the whole thing out of level by about 20 degrees. At least it didnt blow it over lol
