Family Day Fish Derby
« on: February 19, 2012, 09:59:12 PM »
I entered my daughters and myself into the local family day derby and put a hard 2 days of fishing in. We had a great first day with my girls entering 5 different fish in and I entered 1 myself. The second day was pretty slow with a crowd that closed in on us we only pulled one out through the ice. I guess I should have done my home work and found a plan B and C ahead of time. We shut it down at 3:00 this afternoon and took in the awards ceremony. My youngest one took 1st and 2nd place in the 1-7 year category and my oldest daughter took first place in the 8-15 year old category for the second year in a row. The girls made me proud and took home some great prizes.

You could fish either Victor Lake or Grande Cache lake just outside of Grande Cache. It was a  well organized event with over $12000 worth of prizes. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for the biggest rainbow, brookie, ling and sucker. There was also a hidden wait and one for the most suckers brought in which I believe was 45.

Tell your girls well done and I must say that those are nice looking trophies also...
Treat each day as your last; one day you will be right.
