Ideas For A Sask. Fishing Trip.
« on: February 27, 2012, 10:20:42 PM »
The family and I are looking at booking a cabin in Sask. for a week to go do some fishing and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on places or times of year.
As of now we are really looking at Tobin lake for around that second week of July. We have some cabins we are enquiring about but just thought id put the fealers out there for any other ideas.
We will be taking our own boat so will just be looking for some great fishing and some decent accomadations.
Distance isnt an issue.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Probably Pike and Walleye Tuc.
Im pretty new to the whole lake fishing deal as I just got my first boat last year and fished with it 5 or 6 times and now have a better one that we want to take around and explore some of the better fishing in western Canada. Other than that ive been strickly a stream person.
The main objective is to get my boys into some good numbers of fish and with the chance of a few good ones. And preferable a lake that is to challenging for us newbys!

Hey SG, Waskesiu Lake north of Prince Alberta might worth checking out...It was a great spot when I was a kid...
Treat each day as your last; one day you will be right.

At Tobin, you should do well with the walleye. If your looking for big pike and lakers head further north. You can rent cabins up at Devin and Wathaman Lakes and find lots of big pike and lakers. Success rate is very high up there.

Jan lake has several lodges and good fishing.  All the lodges have marinas so you can leave your boat in the water while you are there.

Well looks like ill be hitting Tobin Lake for a week from July 6-13th. Cabin is booked at Tobin Lake Resort for 7 nights. Hope the fishing turns out good but will be a good holiday non the less! Seem like the owners are very nice and we were lucky as they are pretty booked already.
