My buddy lives year round at Moose Lake.  He said the walleye fishing is hot this year with some good size ones being caught.  Fish the sandbar if you go for sure.  Fish the sharp dropoff in about 15 feet of water.  I have caught many 5 - 7 pounders there.  There are other good spots but the sandbar always produces for me.  See where I indicated with red on the map.  I might go up there as well this weekend.  Good luck if you go!

THC 1, it looks like I am going up there for sure this weekend.  Friday evening and Saturday.  I will be in a white and blue Campion boat with a Merc on it.  I spoke to my buddy Randal again this morning and he said the walleyes really turned on this week.

Some sandbar walleyes on Moose a few years back when the limit was 3 each:

We nailed them last night (Canada Day).  The wind went down in the later evening and between the two of us we landed about 40 in under 2 hours.  We ended up fishing the MD hole near Pelican Point.  Didn't even try the other spots the fishing was so good.  Leeches are the key though.

Here are the two that we kept for dinner.  63 cm each.

AxeMan,  We smashed them today real good. Tough on Sunday however. Only landed 13. Today we found that they would only hit minnows. We did not keep count but, somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 or so in the last 4 hours of the day.  Will post some pics prob tomorrow when we get home. Millions of small 2-4 pound pike.

Right on, guys!  Looking forward to some pics.  Moose Lake is a cool lake once you get it figured out a bit.  Glad you guys had some fun up there.   :)
