Was out fishing for a couple of hours tonight and managed to catch 2 suckers. The water seems to be clearing up slowly. The current seems like it slowed down also.

Yesterday was good for me!  Though the day was definitely busier than the evening.  I think if I would have been tossing jigs out to the walleye I could have probably gotten a couple more in the evening, but then I'd be ruling out the possibility of getting that elusive sturgeon!

Just puttin' it out there...

I am heading to the river tomorrow afternoon. I have never been to the river fishing. What setup should I use?

Thanks,

Gongshow.

i like variations of the lindy rig for the river. it has always produced. set up includes a free floating weight on your main line to a barrel swivel. the swivel must be large enough it doesn't slide through your weight. tie your rig with 18" to 36" of line to the other end of the swivel, dependent on your fishing situation. you can still fish the rig, or slowly drag it in back to shore along the bottom. use big shiners. these pics aren't great but hopefully they're enough for you to get the jest of the system. not sure why they copied so large?
