Swan Lake(west of Caroline) Opener?
« on: June 17, 2011, 11:16:25 AM »
Just wondering if any members happened to have went out for the fishing opener on Thursday I beleive it was?

Was hopeing to go but got called back to work. Will be there from the 23rd till the 26th. Camping down along the creek but will have my boat up at the lake. Be nice to hook at least one of the lunkers out of that lake over the weekend.

Yep it can be slow fishing for sure, but there are some tanks in there. Its about a 1/2hr quad ride from my door step so we have fished it from shore by the outlet allot just not in a boat. Caught lots of little hammer heads and a number of decent browns, biggest being 6lbs. My neighbor pulls a few decent lakers out every year but he is a die hard dedicated lake trout guy and spends many days on the lake. Just a nice place to go as we camp in that area lots every year anyways and fish the 3 or 4 trout streams in the area(they are awesome fishing). This will be the first year with the boat so it will be an added bonus I think.

Sounds good. Ill let you know for sure where we will be camped but it will probably be the last opening on the left going up to the lake right on the corner by the creek.

They closed the camp ground this weekend due to flooding    the north fork road was closed with bridges washed out

Should keep things slower out in the west country. Swan creek and the Tay dont usually wash their bridges out and are the only ones that I have to cross to get there and they are pretty quick at fixing things up with all the oilfield activity that needs to get around out there and I dont camp in campgrounds so im sure we will still be out there in a week. Hope to see ya come out.

Bring your rubber boots SG, pretty wet around here. Over 5" in the last week and still raining now. Might have to worry about the Clearwater coming over the road again this year.

Maybe, Denny said the river dropped a bit out at there place over the last 24hrs. Its flowing through the field but ist extremely high yet but could rise a bunch when the water comes in from the west country. Still lots of snow to come out from the reports ive heard from a few guys.

Last time it quit raining here long enough to see the mountains from the house, they were pretty white yet. Just crossed the Clearwater 1/2 hr. ago and it is moving pretty good, not super high though.

Yep with this rain and stuff and that snow I could be evacuating my couple horses from out there again. Havent had to for a couple years now. Their cellar is full and the sump pump is running steady so the water table in the old river bed is high so wont have to rise alot more to flood.
Been a while since I saw it flowing through the Clearwater Store parking lot.

It could get bad all right. Water table is high and the ground seems to be fully saturated now. I have a drainage that only runs during run-off and last night it was flowing like crazy.
