The Redback Chromie...Revisted and Remixed.
« on: April 28, 2012, 06:56:39 AM »
Developed this very productive pattern back in 2002, entered it that spring in a local fly tying contest judged by Mr. Chan and finished second. Fished it regularly until 2004 and don't really know why I stopped tying it. Nowadays with the new beads and hooks available I figured it was time to start tying it again. Hope you like.....

I love the photo's of your flies, John.
My wife and I would like to take a fly-tying course, just to get started and then use youtube videos and take it from there.  I was thinking this is a perfect thing to do on those afternoons at camp.  Have a tying station kept in the RV.
Just not sure who to go to for a good course.  Still researching.

If you are in Calgary, as your name would indicate, Dave, you should have lots of choices. Just pick the one that fits your needs and schedule the best. Cheers
