Anybody do any checks on the fuel mileage of the new hemis? The '10's and up that shut down 4 cylinders when cruising. Looking for a calculated mileage, not what the console says. Getting tired of diesels and thinking of trying one.

I have an 09 1500 that tends to average less than my previous Cummins did. As an average for the 130 liter tank the hemi does 650-800 km whereas my diesels were in the 750-950 zone. The place where the difference really starts to widen is when packing a heavy load.

I had a 1500 Dodge 4X4 with a 5.7 Hemi as a rental for about 6 weeks. I don't doubt that it can get some decent mileage,especially on the highway since the engine just jogs along at 1500 RPM. The main problem with mileage is driving it gently! I got crap mileage out of the rental because I drove it like a rental! When something is that fun to drive, it's hard to hold back sometimes.
