Big Game Harvest Survey Results 2012
« on: April 29, 2013, 05:20:59 PM »
Maybe everyone's seen this, I just noticed it:  http://mywildalberta.com/Hunting/HuntersHarvest.aspx

I like to compare the draw results with the harvest reports:  http://mywildalberta.com/Hunting/HuntingDraws/HuntingDrawsReports/DrawsSummaryReport/Default.aspx

Personally, I think srd does a phenomenal job of our draws, and the info available.  I suspect those who bitch about it can't be bothered to take the time to take advantage of what's offered.  (I suspect they all vote lieberal, too.   ;)  )

I agree with you Bruce that SRD does phenomenal job on the numbers, I just don't believe the hunters. I find it extremely hard to believe that there was 138 mule deer bucks taken in WMU 108 when only 90 rifle tags were given out. That would suggest that Bowhunters took a minimum of 48 bucks if rifle were 100% successful. I know that's not true so why aren't they giving us the number of landowner tags the are giving out as well as the outfitter tags. Why not include in the whole package??   Personally I would like to see the harvest survey become mandatory for all hunters of SRD are going to use the results to set harvest goals. The numbers should be as real as possible.
