Well lets get this forum rolling!

Its count down time for my 2011 black bear hunt. We set up baits north of Slave Lake 2 weeks ago and they have been getting hit pretty hard.

I leave work here tomorrow AM and will meet the wife, my 2 boys and my cousin at Slave tomorrow and the hunt will be underway. Look forwards to hopefully seeing the wife put here first bear on the ground.

Anyways hope to see guys posting pics of the bears they have put down or that they do this season and also hope to have some pics of what we harvest this next week.

I went and bought my first ever black bear tag for a spring hunt this year hopefully i can get out.

I've spent the last couple of weeks fixing fence (more like trying to find them in all the snow!) and branding in the Southwestern corner and I have not seen a blackie yet. I've seen one Grizzly and lots of Griz tracks but no black bears yet? Regards, Mike

Bears are starting to move around here on the bombing range. Alot slower than the last 4 years ive been here but they are moving and the grass is getting greener. Look forward to the next week. Good luck to everyone thats going out!

gunna do my best but I might have to shoot the wife in her trigger hand if I think im gunna come home with a bigger bear than her LOL But that is for sure what we will be looking for.

Off today to give it a shot.  The baits have been getting hammered so hopefully a big guy shows up.

Congrats to the wife on the bear SG. Make sure you get some pics up when you can. The pic on my phone is pretty small, but looks like a pretty good bear.
