Collected a nice doe on sunday
« on: September 22, 2011, 01:43:33 PM »
A doe caught me with my pants down at 6:45 pm last night.

I quickly pulled them up and got a great shot off on her at 22 yards. Passed a full length goldtip (32") with 5" shields through a shoulder and a rib. The arrow vanished through her so fast I thought for a second I could have missed, but she only ran 20 yards. Thats less then the distance she was from my tree, and it was all over in a mater of seconds.

Have to say I was really impressed with the silver flame penetration, but the blood trail didn't exist. There was tons where the arrow lay a few yards behind where she was hit and even more where she lay, but I wasn't able to connect the two locations even having seen her walk from one to the other.

I'll be posting a picture soon and maybe a story about a moose too.

Happy hunting,
PS I'm saving the shoulder to show those wheel guys what a real bow with an even better arrow can do.

Regards,
Adam Brennan

Awesome Adam!!!   Congrats!  I think a doe with the bow is one of the hardest things to do.  I always get so excited when they are there, my heart pounds and my adrenaline pumps.  Good job.  Some good eating there.

thanks everyone, and don't worry my name has nothing to do with my ego. It's the name of the bow I shoot.

Thanks everyone :D

I'm really enjoying this forum so far.
I witnessed the positive encouragement of a young hunter on here and it sold me on the forum.
keep up the good work and atmosphere, its a really nice change.
