Crows and Maggflies
« on: May 15, 2013, 02:05:24 PM »
I m sitting here at the end of a field waiting for a customer to empty the air seeder tank so I can change out bin sensors, and I am seeing hundreds of crows in a draw to the north, and quite a few of the black and white $h!t birds too..  I haven't heard of a crow shoot for quite some time our old F&G club used to have one every spring. I think we should all pick a day maybe the sat or sun after may long and have a shoot then post our results on here.   Go 1 point for crows - 2 points for Maggie's  and ill throw in a camo hat and a 20 $ timmies card to whichever member here knocks down the most.... Who's in?

These buggers need a thinning out!!!

Seeing as how I am blood thirsty and when killing becomes just like breathing there is not much better then a good crow shoot!

Please run this till at least October.  Late Aug to September they bunch up then I can lay the smack down.

Rob I know we're there are a few rookerys around your place.

What do you purpose a running talley until fall?  I was thinking just a one day shoot, but hey I'm up for almost anything

Eraly fall is just the best time to hunt them when they bunch up to migrate getting into the rookerys with a shotgun and call is extremely effective.  Most of the whole murder can be killed this way, I don't live in a high crow populated area any more shooting them off fence posts with a rifle would not give me much success.

  Was just a thought.

We used to have an annual varmint and criter kill basically a compotion for the most varmints killed coyotes, crows, rabbits, gophers, badgers, rabbits, black birds, ect.  At the end of the day or two days we would meet at a bar and tally the points.  Points are drawn from a hat a coyote could be worth -3 points and a gopher +5 points so you never new how you could end up.
