Lets see your 2010 Hunting Season Summary Pics!

After seeing the thread JustinC posted about his 2010 season I thought it would be cool to see a summary of everyones last years season. Post a pic of each animal you or your family harvested or were involved in getting.
Look forward to some fine animals.

Here is my 2010 year in reveiw,
It started with a smaller spring black bear(only had 1 full day to spot and stalk hunt), then we did the antelope season of wich my 3 cousins were drawn(harvested 3 antelope between 14 1/2" and 15 1/2"), after that I was in the yukon to guide 1 Sheep Hunter(37" ram), one moose hunter(58" bull) and one caribou hunt(417" bull largest guided in the Yukon for 2010), after that I got to do some scouting and a little archery elk hunting, I harvested this bull after missing him the night before both days calling him to 40yrds. After that it was time for my Mule draw tag so I headed out solo to that east central part of Alberta and with guidence from a friend I was able to harvest a decent buck. I was able to only hunt the first day of whitetail season because of work but with previous pics of a monter white tail we hunted that first day with no luck. I told the wife her and my 2 boys(9 and 11) should go sit and see if they could get the big guy. And she did well harvesting a Booner buck on here own, official score of 175 4/8 IIRC. After that it was my turn and even though not as big as the wifes I took a decent buck with my 2 boys.
The last buck is one myself and my 2 boys were able to be along on when my cousin harvested it with a muzzleloader.
Was in on many many more days hunting but these4 are the successful ones.

Some great pics for sure. Speaking of pics, just my personal opinion but I like it when the pic is embedded right in the post so you instantly see the picture and don't need to click on it to view it. That being said, congrats to those who have posted on your 2010 seasons.

The embedded pics are nice but Ive been told by a few guys and ive noticed when im off the Sat link and on Rig internet the embedded pics take along time to load(especialy on a full page of pic. posts), with these thunbnails it seems to load alot faster and you just enlarge the ones you want to see.
I actually like the reduced space and speed when on a little slower internet link.
Just my observation.

I drew for mulie buck last fall in the eastern part of the province, and put in about 20 days total looking for another one to put on the wall (took a 170 class in the same zone in 08) I never did shoot a mulie in the zone, and neither did my wife, although she had an opportunity at a nice 160 class buck.
While pushing a deep finger in a coulee, I did however, have to shoot a whitetail in slef defence. He isn't my biggest, but he is memorable for many reasons. My wife must have bumped him from the top of the draw, and he was running, head down and full speed, towards me on the trail i was walking. I raised the model seven in 308 and popped him at about 6 yards. I am still confident that if i hadn't, i would have ended up with some nasty antler holes in my abdomen. Also the first successful hunt with our daughter along, who was 7 months old.
Also had a non trophy antelope draw, so I headed down to Cessford to see some rancher friends down there and see if i could harvest the meat that their grain has grown. It was a good trip, as my father has never been much of a hunter, but was excited to come when I extended the invite. This was also the first hunting trip for a 6.5-06 that I spent the summer dreaming of, while it was being built. Just as I figured the morning fog had screwed us for glassing, and shot a coyote with the 22 mag, since there was no way we would see any speed goats, a herd of them crossed the prairie trail about 700 yds from us. I set up a quick game plan, had Dad drop me where they wouldn't see me exit the vehicle, and commenced a 1 hr, half mile belly crawl. i eventually ran out of tall grass and was forced to make the 6.5-06 do what i built it for, and dropped this doe at 340 yds.

It sure looks more and more like most of us are spending the hunting season with our significant others and children. That is great! I spent most of 2010 helping my 15 year old daughter with her best mulie to date (168 B&C), getting the wife her first antelope and working on our shotgun skills with my youngest girl over a duck pond... shoot, pick her up off the ground... cycle the pump and repeat. Best. Season. Ever!!!! I accidently shot a 5X6 bull elk somewhere in the season.

Hey 220, I'm seriously thinking of phoning the hunting fashion police on you for child in the field abuse. A cute baby like that should not be forced to wear pink in the field but if that is what she wants at least get her some pink camo.

I must admit, my favorite part about any forum is the pictures especially the hunting pictures because of the diverse Alberta scenery…Good job people and keep them coming!

Here's a few highlights from last year. We had a lot of fun...
My 8yr old, playing 'hooky' and running to our first Antlerless MD taken together, his first 'big game' experience and on a 'holy crap it's cold' day too
-
Helping my neighbor, a new hunter, with his first deer-
Elk hunting with the ponies-
Late season success with my 7 & 8 year old... that was a LONG day
-
All in all, a great season, tons of fun and best of all... my boys seem to have the 'hunting bug' REAL bad.

My season had one focus, a BC Goat, which brought many firsts for me. Here is a photo summary of the event:
The next focus was the freezer, so a young bull moose was just the ticket:
And the last event of the year was a pheasant experience for my youngest son and nephew:
