Tried in the past to feed them and then go look for antlers and no luck finding them.  I think I would have to feed them all winter and it would cost too much and it is too hard to get food out to them in the deep snow some years as well.  I didn't have much time to get out either and instead of shed hunting I took the kids fishing a couple times instead which was more rewarding for sure.

Holy Jebus!
what is that in your picture NBFk?
I have never really cared about antlers but that one is just so wild I had to stop and admire it.
thanks for posting

Its pretty good.......Still difficult to obtain permission. From what I've heard calgary's is excellent but access is what makes it suck. Its busy up here as well lots of guys tresspass and sneak around when your trying to hunt. But it does produce some big whitetails. I can't wait to get our string of cameras out. The more I think about it the more I can't wait until the bucks start sprouting the fuzzy stuff!!

I had 18 cameras out at one time once.  Most of these deer I don't hunt.  I have my spots I like to feed them.  They are kind of my babies but in the past couple years they have all died off so I am starting from scratch again.  There will be a couple 170+ this year but not the real good ones like it used to be.  I didn't hunt whitetails much last year.  I think I only put in 5 days and it will probably be about the same this year so I don't expect to get too much

Tried but never found any.  It is all bush area and hard to find horn in.  Funny thing is that a lot of those deer I saw year after year.  One deer I started feeding at about age 4 and was about a 160" buck and I got one pic of him last year and he dissapeared.  I had pics of him for 4 years and died at 8 years old I figured.  Lots of the others have watched for 2-3 years.  It is real cool to see what they turn into.  You really get a good idea of the genetics in an area as well.  You can learn so much watching them year after year.

Ya that would be pretty interesting following the deer and the horn growth each year Nube. I have never followed any specific Bucks as they grow , I just pick up Random  antlers in the Spring. I did however get my first trail cam this year and have found a matched set off a small  3x4 i had on the camera. also neat to see the bald patches on their noggin after they drop.

I love building history with deer. That tall 5x5 I have never seen but I picked his sheds up from about 1km from where he was living this fall. That nasty non typical we hunted for 2 years and only seen him twice. He now rests at the taxidermist waiting for a floor pedestal so my brother in law can take him home. That bottom typical I arrowed and he's resting on my wall. I hope I can find that palmated buck and see if he's alive.

Justin will you look for this Big Guys shed's ? It sure would be a great addition if your plan comes together and you do let the air out of him.

Thanks Justin, I kind of have this Shed antler fetish ,, ;D
Do you have an antler pile or do you do anything with your sheds... I have some interesting ones but nothing of the caliber your finding. I guess the Bush is thicker up here and the steep river banks where i look for the Mulie sheds  make it tough to find some of the big guys i am looking for.
