Time to get serious for Hunting Season
« on: July 03, 2014, 08:05:38 AM »
Well its 43 days till I go to Africa and 59 days to the opener here in alberta so I figure its time to ramp up the archery practice.  Put my new bear out and we got hit with hail.  Have another 14 to put so should be practicing hard by the weekend.  Should be a great season!!

Wish you luck on your African adventure (lucky bugger  :) )

We've been getting gear ready as well.  Just waiting for a coil wire and carb kit for the argo and they're good to go.  Building tracks for them, waiting for stamped pieces from the local machine shop....and waiting, and waiting, and waiting............  >:(   Did the wheelbearings and put a new breakaway controller on the flatdeck, etc, etc.  All takes time and it's all got to be done.

Need to do some more canning once the farmers market starts, and shoot, shoot, shoot.

Never thought about it till your post, but now that you mention it, wife's cow season is T minus 60 days or so.   :o

Apparently no one goes to Africa just once should be an amazing experience.

Spent the day spotting an area I've never been before.  Not the best in the middle of the hottest day of the year so far, but got to know the area and saw some of everything.  Bucks are in velvet, antelope are looking nice.

On the way home saw a wt doe with a tiny fawn, cute as all heck.  It's tail looked almost bigger than it, haha.
